History of the chorus..........
The Harrisburg Men's Chorus was founded in 1987 in memory of Joe Tucci, who's dream it was to see an all
male chorus in the City of Harrisburg.

The chorus has literally traveled from one end of the country to the other to perform...... from Carnegie Hall in
New York City to the Civic Auditorium in San Jose, California.  The Carnegie Hall debut was in May 1993
when the chorus was asked to join voices with the Turtle Creek Chorale, a 160 voice men's chorus from
Dallas, TX and women's choruses from Dallas and New York to perform John Rutter's Requiem with
the Manhattan Philharmonic.  In July, 2000, the chorus made their first singing appearance at a GALA Music
Festival in San Jose, CA.

In September 1999, The Harrisburg Men's Chorus became a resident choral company of the Whitaker Center
in Harrisburg.  Participating in the Grand Opening ceremonies of the Center, one of the highlights was the
introduction of the Harrisburg Song, sung by the Harrisburg Men's Chorus and introduced by Mayor Reed.

The chorus has hosted and performed with several nationally acclaimed performers like opera soprano Marilyn
Horne, jazz singer, songwriter, actress Ann Hampton Callaway and singer, songwriter Judy Collins.
